Between the 4th and 11th March, 1915, the 2nd East Surrey battalion of 85 Brigade, 28th Division were holding the line one mile north of Wulverghem in Belgium. At first battalion HQ was at Scotch Farm but on 6th March this and A Company came under a heavy bombardment and had to move to a chalet at Lindenhoek cross roads. George Collins was killed on 6th March, most likely during this bombardment. |
